How's it going? I hope you had a great/good/decent/whatever Valentine's Day this week. I'm still single, but I got a butt-load of chocolate from my Mom.
I've been working on her Valentine's Day present from me. She requested a Zentangle themed with hearts, some flowers, with the colors Heath, purple, red, blue, and blue green in it that she picked out from my marker collection. You can see the start of me coloring it here-
That mother lover took so long to sketch out, then ink... first I inked it with a smaller sized pen, before going over it for more details... Technically I drew that 3 times! It took me at least 2 days, with 6-8 hours each working on the line art alone. But once Mom picked out the colors, I was able to do shades and such (Which is fun for me to experiment and learn what works and what doesn't).

Obviously they're sped up videos, but then if they weren't, you'd be watching approximately 5 hours of coloring just on these first parts. (Mainly me being really careful and not trying to mess this up since this IS a present and all).
So yeah, I've been keeping busy trying to punt this out. The drawing process literally was a pain in my neck and hands. Had to take some advil after drawing that son of a gun. A full page on the Canson XL Pro Marker Pad 9x12... *excuse me as I go to my corner to rant and complain a bit*.

Returning After Long Hiatus
I've been gone a long time, and I'm touched by the fact that people are still showing interest in my works. Why was I gone? A number of things kept happening- My computer died completely, I wanted to focus more on upping my skills as an artist, and I've had severe chronic health problems like a recurring case of severe stomach problems. It wasn't a fun couple of years health wise. But I got a new computer (MacBook Pro, M1 chip, 13 inch), my art supplies stash has grown exponentially into an arsenal and I've been working on my stories again. I also have Photoshop on my computer, and the app Procreate on my iPad. You lot will be seeing more works from me again now as I finish them. Both originals and fan arts, I've decided. I've also been busy working on building Harry Potter Lego sets this last year thanks to Covid. So I've branched out into other things. Hey guys,
I didn't forget about ya'll. I've just been going through a bunch of stuff recently.
On top of still grieving my dad and grandma's passing, now my uncle (Dad's brother) is passing. He's only got a few months left to live. It's been very difficult to work through and I just can't keep up with everything. I'll post here when I can, but as I said, it's been difficult. Even though it's not the first time I've had to deal with a death in the family, it doesn't make it any easier.

So this last week some of you may be aware that Washington State in the US was hit by a nasty, near hurricane level wind storm? Yeah. I was in the middle of that. We lost power for exactly one week before it finally came back on the two days before Thanksgiving.
As a result, I've been rather discombobulated.
I also have a dental appointment next Tuesday to get two teeth pulled and replaced. One of the teeth mentioned completely disintegrated the night of the storm.
Some good news?
I'm getting a few new art supplies!
